In this guide, you’ll find details of the different areas of Megève, including the town center and the different mountains. In the second part, you’ll find a list of the best hotels, based on our favorites.

The different areas to stay in Megeve

In this first part, we’re going to introduce you to the different areas where it’s worth staying during your stay in Megève. This way, you can choose an area to sleep in according to what appeals to you most.

Sleeping in the city center

The city center, or heart of Megève, is the best place to stay during your stay in the ski resort. It’s easily recognizable by its bell tower and for having retained the authenticity of a typical Alpine village.

This part of Megève is particularly appreciated for its atmosphere and for the number of activities and events it hosts. For example, the village square is the setting for the Christmas tree lighting every winter.

Staying in the center of town means you’ll be able to make the most of the many stores and boutiques, both artisanal and luxury. It’s also pleasant to simply stroll around and admire the old-fashioned architecture, cobbled streets, and fountains.

Access to the Rochebrune and Mont d’Arbois ski slopes is easy. All you need to do is take the ski lifts opposite the tourist office.

There’s a wide range of accommodation on offer, and it’s often in the center of town that you’ll find the top-of-the-range establishments. This is where you’ll find the M de Megève and the Lodge Park, two of Megève’s finest luxury hotels.

Stay close to the Rochebrune cable car

Staying in the area near the Rochebrune cable car means you’ll be close to the ski area but also to the town center.

Whether you want to come to Megève in summer or winter, sleeping close to Mont Rochebrune will have nothing but advantages. In the summer, you’ll be close to hiking and biking trails. In winter, you’ll have easy access to ski slopes for all levels, from green to black.

Other activities, such as paragliding, are also within easy reach. Staying at Mont Rochebrune means you can visit one of the many high-altitude restaurants and enjoy lunch with an unobstructed view of the mountain scenery.

As far as accommodation is concerned, there’s a wide range to choose from. There’s something to suit every budget, from luxury hotels to charming chalets and apartments.

Sleeping at Mont Rochebrune means you’ll benefit from the sporting atmosphere that prevails here, as it welcomes many ski enthusiasts. If you choose to stay here, you’ll also be close to the heart of Megève, less than 15 minutes’ walk away.

Stay close to the Mont Le Jaillet gondola lift

Mont Jaillet is the perfect compromise for those who want to stay close to the slopes but in a quiet location. Like Rochebrune, you’ll find accommodation close to the gondola, giving you quick and easy access to the ski slopes and hiking trails.

Quieter than the Rochebrune area, Le Jaillet offers a relaxed setting ideal for families or those seeking peace and quiet after dark. You’ll still be close to amenities such as restaurants, both local and at altitude, but also to the heart of Megève with its many stores and bars.

On this side of Megève, you’ll find activities such as skiing, hiking, and biking, as well as summer toboggan runs and children’s playgrounds.

Accommodation in this area will be more affordable than in the center or at Mont Rochebrune. There are charming hotels, chalets, residences, and apartments.

Sleeping near Mont Arbois

Mont d’Arbois is a mountain massif with a ski area. In fact, it’s one of the main ski areas in Megève. If you choose to stay here, you’ll find yourself north of the heart of Megeve in a chic, luxurious neighborhood.

As far as activities are concerned, there’s, of course, skiing and hiking, depending on the season. Mont d’Arbois also boasts its own golf course, which attracts many visitors every year. There are many luxury hotels with spas in this area, so it’s easy to have a spa day if you decide to stay here.

As mentioned above, this area of Megève is quite luxurious. There are several gourmet restaurants where you can dine on fine food. Staying in this area will also put you close to ski schools and equipment rental stores.

Some of the best luxury hotels can be found in this area of Megève. It’s an area that’s well suited to customers with a large budget for accommodation. Many expensive hotels, chalets, and residences are located here.
